You have to follow these steps to verify your degree certificate :

Step 1 : Enter Your Anna university online Verification link. Step 2 : Select the required Document Type name with prefix " Tamil Nadu Secretariat / HRD Attestation" and fill all the relevant details. Step 3 : Sign up / Sign In to the Docs wallet account with the user mail id. Step 4 : You will receive a request confirmation mail after the online payment . Step 5 : When the university completes the verification, you will receive another mail informing to login and access the verified document with footnote from Docs wallet account. Step 6 : Please download the verified document by clicking the "Download" button at right side of the summary screen. Step 7: Please make sure you have the Reference Number at bottom of the Anna University Degree certificate as shown below. Step 8 : Take a Print out of the verified Anna University Degree certificate and submit to the secretariat along with the original Anna university Anna University Degree certificate, passport copy and one to complete your HRD Attestation.

Secretariat home department will attest your original Anna University Degree certificate, based on the reference number provided in the foot note . Step 1: All these attestations will be done only if you have a valid employment offer letter from the respective country. Upon receipt of the same, keep 2 sets of photocopies of all the Anna University Degree certificates that needs to be attested. The first level attestation happens at the Secretariat in Chennai, you will have a go to Department of Public (Foreigners), located inside the Secretariat. The reasons for the follow is also that these employees will not at later point say that your documents are missing which is a regular thing in this department. The next day take another set of copies along with the originals and go to the Minisry of External Affairs in the 7th Floor of DPI building in Nungumbakkam by around 9.00am and generally the staff here is very friendly and helpful and if the Officer is available you would be able to get the attested Anna University Degree certificate back by 12.00 noon.
